About the guide

Knowing the island means discovering it again and again

For me, Madeira is as much about its breathtaking nature as it is about the people who call this island home.

What matters to me is not just showing you places, but helping you experience the island more deeply — through its nature, history, people and atmosphere.

Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

How to book, who your guide will be, what to bring, whether tours suit families or can be done by Jeep — the main answers are here, the rest on their own page.

How do I book a tour?

Leave a request on the site or message me on WhatsApp/Instagram/Facebook. We'll discuss your interests, dates and the kind of trip you want, and I'll suggest a suitable route.

Can you customise the itinerary to our interests?

Yes. Personalising the itinerary is my priority. I create each tour around your interests, pace and preferences. Guests sometimes even send me photos they have saved on Instagram, and I create the itinerary around the places and experiences they like.

Who will be my guide?

Tours are usually led by Uliana. Depending on availability, your tour may also be led by a member of her trusted team, trained to provide the same personalised experience and high standard of service.

Can I book a tour for just one person or a small group?

Yes. Tours are available for solo travellers as well as private groups of different sizes. The vehicle is selected according to the size of your group — a car, 4x4 Jeep, minibus, or a coach with 50+ seats.

How do we get around the island?

I match the vehicle to the route and the number of guests: a compact car for one to three guests, an electric Mercedes for up to six, a 4x4 Jeep on request. For a larger group I arrange a 20-seat minibus or a 50-seat coach. I confirm the class of vehicle in writing before you book, so you know exactly what you will be travelling in.

Can I book a Jeep tour?

Yes. A tour can be arranged by 4x4 Jeep on request. It's a great option for those who want to add more excitement to their trip and experience the island in a different way. (There will be no off-road driving on the itinerary that requires a 4x4 vehicle — guests choose the Jeep primarily for the experience and atmosphere.)

Is the tour suitable for families with children?

Yes. I adapt the itinerary to the children's age so that the experience is comfortable and enjoyable for the whole family. Child seats are provided free of charge.

Where does the tour start?

The tour starts at a convenient location for you. I can pick you up at the airport, your hotel or the cruise port, or meet you at another agreed location on the island.

“She gave us the perfect balance of exploring and taking our time — never once felt rushed. Her knowledge of the island, especially the trees, local fruits and everything that makes Madeira special, was exceptional. She took us to hidden little spots we would have never found ourselves…”

“We had an amazing 3 days tour of Madeira with Uliana. She took us to the popular spots as well as some hidden gems of Madeira! She is very knowledgeable about Madeira, local food (her food recommendations were on spot!) and was extremely patient & fun with our 4 year old!”

“Such a lovely lady. This is more of a passion than a job for her, which makes the experience even better. She does the tours wholeheartedly and really wants to show the beauty of the island. She really made my Madeira trip one to remember.”

Compact Ford Fiesta on a mountain road in Madeira among pine trees

Compact car

1 – 3 guests

Madeira's mountain roads are narrow and the parking at trailheads is small: a compact car gets through where a bigger one has to stop. For one to three guests it is the most practical choice.

Mercedes EQV electric van with six seats for private tours in Madeira

Mercedes electric

4 – 7 guests

An electric van — roomy, with space for luggage, and quiet: on a mountain road you hear the ocean and the birds, not the engine.

A 4x4 with an open roof hatch on a forest road in Madeira — private jeep tour

4×4

on request

Not for off-road driving but for the experience: a different format and a different view of the island.

A 20-seat Mercedes Sprinter minibus for larger groups in Madeira

Minibus or coach

from 8 to 55 guests

A big group, great experiences. A comfortable minibus or bus, so you can explore the island together, enjoy the scenery and share unforgettable moments.
